Wardle Warriors U12 Whites Vs Pennine Juniors Whites - 17/9
Match Report
Pennine Juniors Whites 5 – 4 Wardle Warriors Whites
Pennine came out on top in the end in a hard fought match on a very wet Saturday morning.
Wardle started well with a goal in the first ten minutes from a Charlie Nicholson corner, the ball swung in but the defender could only clear it back to Charlie who put it back in the box for James Jackson
to tap over the line.
Pennine equalised a few minutes later on the break with a good strike from their No.2. In fact Pennine had their share of the play but Wardle again took the lead when some great work by Harry Kershaw put
James Jackson through again for his and Wardle’s second goal. Just before half time, Ben Charlson struck with a cross come shot which was fumbled by the Pennine goalie and Harry Kershaw was there to put Wardle 3-1 up at half time.
In the second half for the first 10 minutes it was all Pennine and consistent pressure led to them taking the lead for the first time in the game at 4-3. Wardle equalised late in the game, when James Jackson streaked forward and beat the keeper with a great solo effort to complete his hat-trick.
That should have been it, honours even, but a corner right at the end sealed the three points for
Pennine.
Man of the match was sub goalie, Jordan Lynch for a sterling effort at the back for Wardle.
