Wardle started this game strongly again, they pressed forward from the start and were almost rewarded when Charlie Nicholson broke down the wing and crossed a tantalising ball in for Harry Kershaw to
volley into the net, only to be judged to be offside. Wardle were gutted about the decision and a few minutes later, Rossendale took the lead.
 
Ten minutes later Rossendale stretched their lead despite several chances going to waste for Wardle. They went into the break undeservedly losing 2-0.
 
After the break, Wardle again came out fighting and from kick off played the ball back to Kristian Kean who passed to James Jackson to run through with the ball and struck into the net, reducing the
deficit.
 
James Jackson managed to equalise a few minutes later when he beautifully converted a cross from Harry Kershaw who had worked hard to get himself into that position.
 
Wardle took the lead about three quarters of the way into the game, when Charlie Nicholson scored from a tight angle when it looked like the ball would go out for a goal kick.
 
Wardle’s lead stretched to 4-2 with 10 mins to go when Harry Kershaw earned himself moment of the match award with a fantastic run and cross for Charlie Nicholson to score his second of the game.
 
Rossendale pulled one back from a corner, but it was too little, too late and with the last kick of the game, James Jackson completed his hat-trick for Wardle.
 
Ben Charlson was man of the match for a solid performance throughout.
