Wardle Warriors Whites 5 v 3 Unsworth FC
 
Wardle started this game in a buoyant mood after their draw with top of the table last weekend. They were on the score sheet within the first five minutes when Harry Kershaw was put through on goal and
finished clinically. He scored another just a few short minutes later when he struck for goal from a tight angle and scored.
 
Wardle went 3-0 up shortly afterwards when man of  the match Nathan Wardle fired a brilliant solo effort into the back of the net. From the ensuing restart Kristian Kean picked up the ball in midfield and saw
his cross come shot go beneath the Unsworth keeper and over the line for a goal. Wardle went into the break 4-0 up and thought the points were in the bag.
 
They were mistaken. Unsworth were not prepared to give the game up without a fight and Wardle were coasting for a time at the start of the second half.  Two goals within the first five minutes of the restart caused Unsworth to think they had a fighting chance. Ten minutes later their deficit was reduced further when a Wardle player was adjudged to have pushed an Unsworth player in the box and they converted the ensuing penalty. This brought the score back to 4-3 for Wardle.
 
The remaining ten minutes were played out nervously for players, managers and spectators alike. However an injury to an Unsworth player, left them with 10 men and in the last couple of minutes Ben Charlson picked up a throw in and crossed well for James Jackson to scramble home and finish the game 5-3 for Wardle, this earned him the moment of the match award.
