Wardle Warriors U9 Blues Vs. Roach Dynamo Orange - 8/10
Match Report
Team: Lewis, Harry, Harrison, Jensen, Henry, Liam, Luke K
Subs: Ellis, Amy, Luke J
Roach Dynamos Orange 5 Wardle Warriors Blues 1 (Liam 49)
Some of the crowd had not even managed to get pitchside with their bacon
butties before a good move by Dynamos resulted in a well struck shot going past
Lewis to make it 1-0 after just 50 seconds! A minute later and only two good
tackles by Harry prevented another goal scoring opportunity for Dynamos before
their next couple of efforts were saved by Lewis and with one way traffic it
looked to be a certain second before Jensen brilliantly cleared off the line
twice. The Blues began to get in to the game with Luke K having a half chance in
the box and Liam finally having the Blues first attempt of the game but shooting
over the bar. After 19 minutes, the Dynamos No.10 went past two defenders before
his left foot shot was saved by Lewis but the rebound was put in to make it 2-0.
A minute later they attacked again down the right and this time Lewis had no
chance as the Blues trailed 3-0. The Blues came back with a good through ball
from Henry to Liam who had a one-on-one with the keeper but his shot was well
saved. The first half ended with another chance from the Dynamos going just over
the bar.
A triple substitution at half-time seemed to give the Blues some impetus, as
Luke K laid on Harrison with a good through ball but his shot didn't trouble the
keeper as he hit it over the bar and a moment later another good pass from Luke
K set up Jensen but his shot was well saved. Dynamos came back though with a
header over the bar, a shot wide before another shot which was saved by Lewis
but then followed up to make it 4-0. The Blues tried to defend as best they
could with Luke J and Jensen making good tackles but after 14 minutes the Blues
defence appeared to have gone walkabout, as the Dynamos No.10 went past 3
defenders before crossing to any of the four Dynamos playing waiting in the box
and although Lewis saved the initial shot he couldn't do anything to stop the
rebound being put away to make it 5-0. The Blues tried to get some pride back
and a good run from Harrison resulted in an effort from Liam being saved by the
keeper but the next four efforts all came from the Dynamos which came to
nothing. Then, with one minute left on the clock, Luke K closed down the Dynamos
defence, Jensen made a great tackle and passed to Henry who continued the move
with a good pass to Liam, who took one touch before unleasing a pile driver from
the edge of the box in to the bottom right-hand corner of the net to make it
5-1. A minute later the final whistle blew.
Moment of the Match Award: Not awarded, as the award was for the move which
led to the Blues goal and involved four players.
